Some Like It Red

February is coming to a close, so I thought it apropos to post my red suit as my outfit of the month due to so much red throughout the month. I’ve been posting my suit on Instagram and as a main photo in my last post when my new podcast launched.

Why Red

It’s American Heart Month and on February 1st, it was National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease. This month also celebrated Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day. It’s also Pink Shirt Day on February 27th!

Basically, I look like a giant lucky Chinese red envelope or a giant Valentine’s Day gift whilst raising awareness about heart disease. You might say that this is my superhero outfit!

A few months ago, for some reason, I was seeking out a red suit. My closet is so boring and drab. It contains a lot of dark colors with no vibrant ones. So this year, I thought I’d make a few colorful splashes in my wardrobe by buying a red suit. Perfect timing for the month of February.

Portland, Oregon, isn’t exactly known for people wearing bright vibrant colors, especially during winter season, but I don’t care. I rocked this set as if it was Portland Summertime.

The Deets

I paired this outfit with a pink blouse, nude heels, and a black handbag. I think this would look great with a black top, as well, but I do plan on different variations of this set in the future.

Personal side note: One of my goals this year is to focus more on fashion and the podcast. I’d love to be like every other blogger/instagrammer and post as many different outfits as I can, but it’s not something that I can do. I’m hoping that I can give people ideas for rewearing existing pieces in their closet, while adding the occasional new pieces into their wardrobe to glam it up.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I’d love some feedback as to what type of styling posts you’d like to see in the future.
