The Green Life

Jolie Pagaille The Green Life

I feel as if I’ve been doing these bold, solid color outfits lately. My choice this month is a bit obvious. It’s green. I never thought I’d own a full-blown green suit. My inspiration to purchase a green suit came from the show Dynasty, namely Fallon’s outfits – I’m clearly impressionable. Obviously, I cannot afford any of the clothing on that show, but what if I could find something similar?

Why Green

March is the month of Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day. One has speckles of green color and the other one is just – green. I also didn’t want to get pinched on St. Patrick’s, so a full green suit ensured there was no pinching of my sensitive skin to be had! Haha.

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, I have another matching suit in red. I also wore this green suit for my podcast cover and back in January. Thinking about it now, I’m not sure what type of mood I was in when I purchased these two suits. I just wanted to try something different. I will tell you that I gained a lot of stares (from strangers) and comments (from co-workers) about these two suits. The comments were positive! It’s just that people in Portland are not used to suit colors this bold and bright. We’re used to blacks, browns, blues, quilted patterns, and florals – anything North Face, Patagonia, or our beloved Columbia Sportswear and Nike.

The Deets

I’ve outfitted this with a pair of Valentino VLTN Logo Pointy Toe Pump in white, an Alexander McQueen inspired scarf, and a pink blush Jules Kae Vegan Leather Tote from my Box of Style subscription.

I have been mixing my suits up with different tops and dressing it with different color blazers; like a navy or black blazer. I don’t think I could interchange my red and green suit, though. That’s a little too festive, for even me.

I’ll have to post these variations in the future, but for now… I think, because and St. Patrick’s Day falls in March, that it would be fun to do this post. I also do love pairing this suit with my skull scarf that I’ve had for over a decade! It seems to add to the Extraness. And if you know me, I like to play up that “Extra” for fun – mostly to make fun of myself. If I can’t laugh at myself then who can I laugh at?
